TruHair Styled Products

TruHair’s brand is bright, bold and colorful. My personal style is typically earthy, moody and natural, so it was definitely a challenge to wrap my head around the brand. I love a good challenge though, and in the end, these are some of my favorite images in my portfolio.

For this project, TruHair requested a festival summer vibe as well as a clean bathroom feeling. I had a ton of fun sourcing the props for the festival flat-lays which were definitely a departure from anything I had done previously. TruHair provided a lot of detail in their brief which made the final product a close fit to their vision.

TruHair is not only a challenging style for me, it’s a challenging product in general. The powders tend to get all over the studio and require a lot of detail work to keep them looking brand new. The packaging also requires glare removal which I typically achieved with a combination of photoshop and a matte spray. Finishing this project gave me a huge feeling of pride and accomplishment and helped me feel ready to take on the next challenge!
